To elaborate on the difference between venting and bashing: Venting is about a specific encounter or problem. It can be quite pointed and snarky, but it remains on the civil side of anger or frustration. Bashing, for the purposes of this board, means generalizing or using sweeping statements.

Examples:
Allowed: "I had a horrid blow-up with a Christian woman at co-op today! Why does this happen to me so often?"
Not allowed: "I had a horrid blow-up today. Why are all Christians such XYZ?"

Sweeping generalizations are problems.  #1 They're utterly indefensible and I'd like to assume we're all intelligent enough to avoid such an obvious mistake.  #2 They take nice, intelligent debate and drive it off a cliff into the flaming inferno of message board war.  So do yourself a favour and qualify your statements with "I believe" or "It seems to me" and as a bonus the moderators will love you and shower you with gifts.
